Shoes That I Have
Realized I have Footwear Autism, or something. A few things came together to realize this. My sweetie runs a shoe store, so I've been getting the good shoe hookup for the past buncha years. A while ago, she got me some shoes for around the house, and I loved them. I think they were some Crocs with a fuzzy lining. Loved wearing those things. Which made me realize that I hate walking around barefoot! I don't really like just socks either. I don't like the sensation! I hate to feel the floor on my feet! Also, I'm a big ol' toe walker so if I'm not wearin shoes, I'm toe walkin'. Probably because I hate the sensation of floor on feet! Footwear helps me walk normally, which is probably better for me, yeah?
So I had shoes for in the home, I had shoes for out of the home, and I had to get non-slip work shoes too. That was the start, kinda snowballed from there. Of course I kept getting new shoes, and I naturally started using them for different purposes. I don't think this was super conscious, until maybe a month ago when I realized I had a bunch of different pairs for different utilities. And I try not to use them outside of that utility! It's really nice actually. Gone are the days of me wearing the same beat-up slip-on Vans everywhere all the time!
Here's a list of a lot of my shoes and their utilities:
- Vans Lizzies for skateboarding
- All black New Balances for theatre tech blacks
- Non-slip Crocs for working food service
- Slip on Uggs for walkin around my home
- Onitsuka Tigers for active walkin around my home (housework, cleaning, lotsa movin)
- Shitty Ikea slippers for walkin around post-shower until I can get socks on (wet feet on floor is a big no)
- Slip-on Vans for quick going outside
- Big ol winter boots for snow time, both for if I'm walking through snow, or just if I expect to be walking on ice because they're good at not slippin.
- Hi-top Vans with a fuzzy lining for more casual going out in the Winter to keep me warm
- I got some New Balances and Pumas for exercise (but I don't exercise so they're in p good condition, I'll use them for Ring Fit or going on walks)
- Worn out shoes become shit shoes for doing outside work or whatever
- Got a buncha other stuff for just goin' out, different cute Converse n Vans n junk
